About the Instructors

Rich

Rich is a retired Vancouver Police officer who spent 7 years of his career as a Narcotic detection dog handler with the VPD Dog Squad and another three years managing Vancouver’s Urban Search and Rescue K9 team.

While working Tya as a Narcotic Detection K9 in the private sector, Rich completed the Animal Behaviour College Dog Trainer’s Certification program, and studied several different training methods for Scent work. He has now put together the most efficient and enjoyable way of showing your dog this great game of canine sport detection.

Danielle

Danielle has worked in law enforcement for 18 years and 11 of those were spent working as a Narcotic/Firearm detection dog handler. Throughout her career as a handler, she worked along side many agencies and participated in numerous courses and seminars throughout Canada and the United States. Danielle and Nova were Two time Canadian Police Canine Association Detection Dog Champions.

Danielle took her professional experience and combined with various training methods, has developed a teaching style that focuses on a functional way of building and developing Sport detection K9 teams. She believes in building a strong partnership between handler and dog, and loves to see her clients succeed in the Sport!

She is also an active member and Trial Judge for the Sporting Detection Dog Association.
